Inside Out is a global art project transforming messages of personal identity into works of art. The art project was initiated by the French photographer JR. After winning the TED prize in 2011, JR expressed his wish to “change the world” by turning it ‘inside out’. The project, inspired by JR’s large format street pastings, is open for anyone to participate, anywhere in the world. Our Ventura version of this project is called Eyes On The Westside. The project is inspired and directed by Ruby, a middle schooler at DeAnza Academy for the Arts (DATA). The photos will be displayed for about 6 months for community enjoyment and to highlight the character of our community’s youth. The Wellness Arts Village building (former Avenue Hardware — currently under transformation construction) is the proud host for this creative, community-building project.
